Iotophoresis is tried-and-true treatment for sweaty hands, feet, face, neck, back and underarms. It works by delivering small, safe electronic shocks to your skin with these wonderful machines. A weak DC electrical current is conducted through the water via electrodes.

How does it work?
The weak current passes through the sweat glands and inhibits sweat production without damaging the glands themselves.

Does it hurt?
It is not considered painful, but it is not "comfortable". The Direct Current (DC) machines give you a light tingle, while the better Pulsed Current (PS or PC) machines are almost unnoticeable. Fortunately, the results outweigh the discomfort, as they are truly remarkable at stopping sweat production.

How long do I have to use the device?
Generally, people do a home treatment for 10-15 minutes once every 7-10 days.

How long will the machine last?

What if it doesn't work? Can I return it?
Yes. You can return the product to us within 60 days if you do not like it for any reason*.

Can I just make my own machine and save the money?
Yes, of course you can. But, you are putting yourself at risk of electric shock!

Additionally, the volts to amps ratio will not be ideal. For you to get the same amout of volts, you would need 12 car batteries strung together!

And, with this many batteries it would be incredibly painful to the skin. The devices you see people making for themselves on the internet using small batteries are generally not effective at all.

Why are your machines more expensive than the Drionic or Idrostar?
It is true. Our machines are more expensive, however, comparing the Hidrex to the Drionic is like comparing an i-phone to a home phone. They can each make a phone call, but that's where the similarities end.

According to many testimonials, The Drionic delivers painful, ineffective, and random treatments that don't work. And they require replacement batteries so often that they end up being a very expensive machine in the long run.

The Hidrex and the Idromed are what the doctors use, and if you want a permanent solution to your problem, these are the only machines to consider.

Both our Idromed and Hidrex machines are incredibly powerful and safe. The difference between the Idromed and Hidrex is that the carrying case is a bit larger and sturdier with the Idromed. But, the controller for the Hidrex has more options.

These differences are minimal, and should be based solely on preference.

What's the difference between Direct Current (DC) and Pulsed Current (PC/PS) models?
Both models will stop perspiration, however, the pulsed current allows the user to increase the amperage without noticing any feeling on the skin. This allows a better and more effective treatment that will last longer, and extend the time between treatments.

Although PC devices are at the outset more expensive, remember that iontophoresis is a lifelong therapy, and the cost on a per-treatment basis is minimal.

The device you choose will become an important and well-liked friend, so you need a reliable machine to provide you with the best service. Iontophoresis is usually lifelong. While you may eventually have durations without treatments of up to four weeks before the sweating begins again, you will need to continue using the machine on an on-going basis.

Iontophoresis Machines

Each machine packs up in it's own small, sturdy case. When open, each side of the case is used as the water basin for the hand or foot.

There is no danger of allergies, as the electrodes are made of aluminum plating and are nickel-free. You can purchase the optional sponge electrodes for treatment of the armpits, neck, back or face.

The concept for these devices was developed in close cooperation with major university hospitals in Germany.

The pulsed direct current has advantages for a flexible and comfortable therapy especially for hands, armpits and face. The pulsed direct current model uses a frequency that is nearly impossible to detect.

Will I still need to use deodorant / antiperspirant?
While it is not necessary to use deodorant or antiperspirant, many of our underarm hyperhidrosis patients report that using our Bonedri or Klima Antiperspirant allows them to go longer between treatments, and provides a nice smelling scent. Also, our hand and foot patients report using Klima Handspray or Footspray allows them to go up to 21 days between iontophoresis treatments.
